I've been thinking about influences lately. By that I mean people who have influenced me. Of course, the list changes with time, although as I approach 40 I am surprised at the names that stay. Jimmy Page. Still. It's weird. I can't justify it, really, anymore. He's a great guitarist, but... he's still the bee's knees to me. I guess he's a childhood hero that hasn't worn out his welcome. To this day, my first answer to any question on Jeopardy is "Jimmy Page".
The next person is crazy because the older I get, the
more of an influence he is. That cat is
Aleister Crowley. Yup. The wickedest man on earth. Ooooooh ,Spooky, to quote
Count Floyd. And yet, the older I get, the more depth I find in his writing. My general opinion of the man remains fairly static, but his genius... true genius, seems more and more obvious as I age.
Like most I came to Crowley through Jimmy Page. He had purchased Crowley's estate on Loch Ness, after all, and did the soundtrack to Lucifer Rising (a shitty, useless movie, btw)
